I’m Niall and I love my job.
I’m a family man with a beautiful wife and five crazy kids. Like any good vet I have a myriad of pets in our home and to say it’s a busy home life would be an understatement. I’ve found both in my work and personal life busy usually means happy so I tend to keep myself as busy as possible both in and out of work.
I became the sole director at Wallace Vets in 2013 and have seen the practice through expansion into Broughty Ferry in 2016 and more recently Arbroath in 2018. I’m incredibly proud of what the team has achieved.
I’m someone who it always keen to look to the future and I love keeping up to date with all things veterinary. My career goal has always been to be the best general practitioner I can be. I love everything about being a ‘pet vet’ and I’m as happy consulting with your fluffies as I am getting out my orthopaedic saw.
In 2018 I went on a practical ophthalmology course which has helped the practice undertake new surgeries. These include conjunctival pedicle grafts for severe eye ulcers as well as treating distichiasis (eyelash hairs poking into the eye).
My friends and family will tell you that veterinary work is my life and they are not wrong. It’s been a life long passion and without my pets and without yours I’ve no idea what I would do. I really can’t imagine working in any other job.
