I’m Megan and I joined the Wallace Vets team in March 2016 as a receptionist.
In September I began working as an Animal Care Assistant. I am about to start a monitoring of anaesthesia course, and I’m really excited about it, as this is a big step towards helping out with operations then continuing on to start my Level 3 nursing, to finally be a Registered Vet Nurse!
I am loving my roll as a Care Assistant, although it can pull on the heart strings sometimes! What I like most about my roll is helping the animals get better over time and there’s no better feeling than seeing an animal you’v helped go home at the end of the day healthy with their family! I also really enjoy the care side of things, making sure everyone is settled and happy in their kennels, and of course giving out plenty of attention and cuddles!
I have worked with animals for over 6 years in a variety of environments including kennels, groomers and Pets At Home. I also completed my NC in Animal Care at Angus College then was offered a Job at weekends looking after the small furries and reptiles.
I have a very spoilt six year old Parson Russell Terrier called Riley who is absolutely mad!
