Important information on how we’re keeping our staff and clients safe whilst still caring for your pets

Important Information

In light of the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we are taking the following steps to protect our clients and employees.

Practice Status

Carnoustie

All three of our practices will be open to provide emergency, essential and routine services.

We are operating differently for the protection of our staff and clients and our opening times may differ to normal.
More information can be found below.

Vaccinations

First, Second and Booster vaccinations and Health Checks can booked as normal. Please call us on 01382 549600 to make an appointment.

Neutering

We are performing routine spays and castrates in all three practices.
Please call us on 01382 549600 to book.

Consent forms are to be completed online the day before.
You will be sent a text message with a link to complete and sign this online.
Please ensure we have your correct mobile number.

Reducing contact

For the continued safety of our staff and clients we are currently restricting clients access to our practices

Physical appointments

When you arrive at the practice, please stay in your car and phone to let us know you are there.

Our team will instruct you what to do.

At the sad time where you may need to lay your pet to rest, we will allow a family member to come into the practice at safe distance from our team

For emergency/essential treatment and surgery, where appropriate, consent forms are to be completed online the day before

You will be sent a text message with a link to complete and sign this online. Please ensure we have your correct mobile number

Admit appointments

When you arrive at the practice, please stay in your car and phone to let us know you are there

Our team will instruct you what to do next

We will be conducting discharge appointments by phone before you collect your pets

Repeat Medication Checks

Three and six month health checks for repeat long-term medication will be assessed on a case by case basis over the phone

Puppy Parties

Puppy Parties have been cancelled for the foreseeable future

Work Experience

School and College work experience placements have been cancelled for the foreseeable future

Booking appointments

Please book you appointments by calling us on 01382 549600.

We have currently disabled the ability to make appointments online.

If the Vet asks you to bring your pet to our practice

  • At present, clients are not allowed into our practices and the entrance will be locked when you arrive

  • To let us know that you have arrived, please phone our reception from your car to let us know you there

    • In Arbroath, the Leonard Street car park is currently free to park in

  • Our team will give you instructions over the phone as to how to safely bring your pet into the practice whilst keeping a safe distance from our team

Prescription Medication

To free up our phone lines for emergency calls, please following these instructions for ordering repeat medication:

  • Order online by clicking here

  • Phone us on 01382 549600 and select option 1 to leave a message

  • Your message should have the following information:

    • Your name

    • Your pets name

    • Your mobile number

    • The medication you need

Collection

If you have opted to collect your prescription, please allow 48 hours. We will send you text message when it’s ready

Post

If you wish for your prescription to be posted out, please be aware that the postal service may take 3-4 working days to do this.

    • There is a £2 charge for postage.

    • Controlled drugs have to be sent recorded and there is a £4 charge for this

Paying for consultations, treatment and medication

  • After any consultation, treatment or dispensing of medication, our team will call you to take payment over the phone.

  • We are no longer accepting payments by cash

  • You can also pay online at wallacevets.com/pay

  • Insurance forms are be handed into, or posted into our practices.

  • For eClaims, you can complete the online claim form here
