Important Information

In light of the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we are taking the following steps to protect our clients and employees.

From Monday 4th May, all three of our practices will be open to provide emergency and essential services.

We are operating differently to adhere to social distancing rules and our opening times will differ to normal.

Broughty Ferry

Our opening hours are:
Mon to Fri, 8.00am – 8.30pm
Sat, 9.00am – 4.00pm
Sun, 10.00am – 12.00pm


Our temporary opening hours are:
Mon to Fri, 8.30am – 5.00pm
Sat, Closed
Sun, Closed

Our Out of Hours service continues to run outwith these times


  • We are now offering 1st and 2nd vaccinations for puppies and kittens and first booster vaccinations for Dogs and Cats aged 12 to 15months. Designated appointments are available:

    • Arbroath – Monday to Friday afternoons

    • Broughty Ferry – Monday to Friday mornings and afternoons

    • Carnoustie – Monday to Friday afternoons

  • For older pets needing their booster vaccination, these can be delayed for up to 3 months past the year date, following manufacturers guidelines. If it has been 15 months since your pet last had it’s booster vaccination, please contact us to make us aware.

Reducing contact

  • We are no longer running routine face-to-face consultations

  • Phone consultions are available as well as video consultations through FaceTime and Skype

    • Consultations are charged at normal rate, however, if the Vet recommends a physical examination is required as a result of the phone/video consultation, there is no additional charge for this

  • For the time being, we are currently not carrying out routine surgery

  • For emergency/essential treatment and surgery, where appropriate, consent forms are to be completed online the day before

    • You will be sent a text message with a link to complete and sign this online. Please ensure we have your correct mobile number

  • Admit appointments will be replaced with a handover at distance

    • When you arrive at the practice, please stay in your car and phone to let us know you are there

    • Our team will instruct you what to do next

  • We will be conducting discharge appointments by phone before you collect your pets

  • We are no longer carrying out routine injections, with exception of chemotherapy

  • 6 month health checks for repeat long-term medication will be assessed on a case by case basis over the phone

  • Puppy Parties have been cancelled for the foreseeable future

  • School and College work experience placements have been cancelled for the foreseeable future

  • We have disabled the ability to make appointments online

If the Vet asks you to bring your pet to our practice

  • At present, clients are not allowed into our practices and the entrance will be locked when you arrive

  • To let us know that you have arrived, please phone our reception from your car to let us know you there

    • In Arbroath, the Leonard Street car park is currently free to park in

  • Our team will give you instructions over the phone as to how to safely bring your pet into the practice whilst keeping a safe distance from our team

  • Please note, we are currently not sending out text reminder for appointments

Prescription Medication

To free up our phone lines for emergency calls, please following these instructions for ordering repeat medication:

  • Order online by clicking here

  • Phone us on 01382 549600 and select option 1 to leave a message

  • Your message should have the following information:

    • Your name

    • Your pets name

    • Your mobile number

    • The medication you need


If you have opted to collect your prescription, please allow 48 hours. We will send you text message when it’s ready


If you wish for your prescription to be posted out, please be aware that the postal service may take 3-4 working days to do this.

    • There is a £2 charge for postage.

    • Controlled drugs have to be sent recorded and there is a £4 charge for this

Paying for consultations, treatment and medication

  • After any consultation, treatment or dispensing of medication, our team will send you a text message with your account balance

  • We are no longer accepting payments by cash

  • You can pay online at wallacevets.com/pay

  • Our team are also carrying out routine phone calls to take payment over the phone

  • Insurance forms are be handed into, or posted into our practices.

  • For eClaims, you can complete the online claim form here
