2016 is a massive year for us and we’re investing heavily into our ongoing commitment to offer the highest quality independent veterinary service in Dundee, Angus and beyond.

New Practice

1st February sees the opening of our second practice in Broughty Ferry, just 6 miles from our original Carnoustie practice (10 minute drive, door to door).
Broughty Ferry is a much larger space which will enable us to increase our operation, giving us room to offer more and improved facilities.
As these facilities are greater the majority of our on-call service will be handled there and our opening hours across the two practices will change slightly to reflect this.
Carnoustie will operate in the same capacity as it has for years. It will continue to be used for all the same consultations and operating procedures, and our aim is to renovate this practice in the future.

More Appointments

Increasing our consulting space from two rooms to five rooms means we can double the amount of Veterinary appointments available and offer more Nurse appointments, helping with the demand on our current services.

Online Booking

In the next few weeks you will be able to book appointments for both practices through our website, meaning you can see in advance which routine appointments are free to book at your convenience, for a time that suits you best.
Appointments where your Pet may need to be seen immediately should still be made by phoning the practice.

Our Team

We’ve invested in adding new talented members to our team of Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Nurses and Nursing Assistants, and over the coming months as our business continues to grow we will be adding more people to our team.

Communication

We’ve invested in new technologies that will allow us to communicate even better with you, our clients.

Appointment Reminders
Those with a mobile phone number on their contact details will receive a Text Message reminder of any appointments booked.
If your appointment is in the morning you will receive a text message reminder the night before. If you’re appointment is in an afternoon you will receive a text message reminder that morning. Click here to register your mobile number and email address

Vaccine & Preventative Treatment Reminders
Our system knows when your Pets are due vaccines and will automatically send you a text message or email to remind you to book an appointment with one of our vets.
It also knows when you last bought worming and flea/tick treatments and will automatically send you a text message to remind you to buy and apply more when it’s due.
Our aim is to make sure you’re kept up-to-date so you can make sure your Pet stays protected.

Recovery Updates
If your Pet is in for routine surgery our Nurse team can send you a quick update via text message to let you know how your Pet is recovering, giving you peace of mind and allowing you to get in touch with us at a time convenient to you

Smartphone App
Our Mobile App is a great way to keep track of your Pets weight, treatments, walks and adventures. Download it for free here

Environment

We’re committed to playing our part at reducing our negative impact on the environment.

Energy efficiencies and CO2 reduction
Our practices in Broughty Ferry and Carnoustie are both fully fitted with LED lighting which reduces energy waste and are free from pollutants like mercury and lead.
Because LED lights generate very little heat, there’s no need for additional energy waste through air conditioning.

All of our computers are solid state and have no moving parts, meaning they generate no heat and have no need for fans to cool them down, reducing energy waste by over 5 times and dramatically cutting CO2 emissions

Paperless
Our new practice management system, accountancy software, fax system and insurance claiming procedures allows us to become as paperless as possible.

We’re also encouraging clients to register their mobile numbers and email addresses with us so we can move away from posting paper reminders and across to instant communications with text messages and emails.

These are just some of the small steps we’re taking to improve our services and facilities, and why more and more pets are moving to Wallace Vets…
